Finnair gives go-ahead to in-flight Wi-Fi rollout
Finnair is set to invest in onboard Wi-Fi connectivity for the majority of its wide-body and narrow-body aircraft, after the carrier’s Board of Directors gave the go-ahead to the investment. At this stage, no further details are available as to which supplier Finnair is likely to work with on the connectivity rollout.
Indian Airline Operators May Soon Offer In-Flight Internet To Air Travelers
In what may be a great news for Indian Air Travelers, Indian Operators may soon be able to offer WiFi on their aircrafts. According to an ET report, who have cited senior civil ministry officials stating that their ministry had approached Telecom department with a proposal in this regards and a formal announcement on the same could be made soon.

Wi-Fi connectivity at no or nominal cost on nearly half of Emirates’ fleet and on all of its A380s; personal mobile phone service on 75% of its fleet, in addition to in-seat email, telephone and SMS services on every aircraft.
DUBAI, U.A.E, 26 March 2015: Emirates now offers free* Wi-Fi on 106 of its aircraft, with two to three more aircraft being installed with Wi-Fi connectivity every month. After updating the service in early February with a simpler sign-on process on top of other software updates, Emirates has seen a further 25% increase in uptake.
Finnair to launch inflight Internet on Airbus A350
Finnair will launch inflight WiFi on its first Airbus A350 this year, as the first step towards a fleet-wide upgrade which will see all of the Finnish airline’s jets set for sky-high surfing by 2018.
The €30 million (A$42 million) program will connect Finnair’s nimble regional European jets as well as its international Airbus A330s and new flagship A350s, the first of which is due to begin flying later this year.

Interest in the match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid is set to go that step further with the cooperation between Turkish Airlines and MEDIAPRO to broadcast the match live on the airline’s flights. Worldwide interest in Spain’s LFP continues to grow, matching that generated by other major sporting competitions around the globe. This ‘Clásico’ will be the very first LFP (La Liga) match to be broadcast live on board during a flight on an aircraft at up to 30,000 feet high. The airline, which is a member of the Star Alliance, operates flights to 5 continents as well as to several Spanish cities. The Barça-Madrid clash will be available live on around 17 intercontinental flights as can be seen in details on the below chart;
