Get free inflight Internet access on China Southern flights

China Southern is trialling free inflight Internet on selected routes until October 29 2016 – among them are flights CZ301, CZ302, CZ325 and CZ326 between Sydney and Guangzhou, as well as flights CZ3112 and CZ3115 between Guangzhou and Beijing. But to take advantage of the promotion you’ll need to register at China Southern’s website before you fly.

Heroes includes stories from a skateboarder, a runner, a sailor, a golfer and a badminton coach. Their work is helping to tackle Brazil’s most pervasive problem: the country is still one of the most unequal in the world.

Virgin Australia to launch inflight Internet

Virgin Australia will flick the switch on sky-high WiFi next year, giving passengers on its domestic and international flights the ability to stay connected above the clouds. Virgin’s domestic Boeing 737-800 and Airbus A330 fleet, as well as its international Boeing 777-300ERs, will be equipped with satellite Internet from mid-2017.

IMG agrees deal for live inflight rights for Rio 2016 Olympics

IMG has agreed a deal with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the international inflight rights for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. The deal will see IMG distribute live coverage of the Games to the airline and cruise line industries, excluding all routes within the U.S.

Inflight Internet in Australian skies is becoming less so a novelty than an expectation of high flying business travellers, with more and more airlines powering up their satellite links to make sky-high surfing a modern reality.
Among the current ranks are Singapore Airlines, Qatar Airways and Emirates, with Qantas to launch free inflight Internet aboard its domestic Airbus A330 and Boeing 737 aircraft by the year’s end.

China Eastern Commits to 84 Aircraft Deal with Panasonic Avionics

China Eastern Airlines has increased its commitment to Panasonic Avionics’ (Panasonic) for global broadband connectivity services to 84 total aircraft.
The leading Chinese carrier, which, in partnership with China Telecom Satellite, was the first to offer broadband Wi-Fi connectivity on flights over Chinese airspace, and this agreement strengthens its long-term relationship with Panasonic.
