Malaysia Airlines’ new Airbus A350 sees the Oneworld member join the WiFi club, with the advanced jet offering inflight Internet to passengers from the four first class suites through to the last row of economy.

However, the airline’s MHConnect platform has eschewed the trend towards time-based connections including popular ‘entire flight’ packages in favour of data-based plans with fixed speed limits.

Virgin Australia to offer free inflight Internet on USA flights

Virgin Australia will offer free inflight Internet on selected flights to Los Angeles from December 2017, as the first two of the airline’s five Boeing 777-300ER jets to be upgraded with satellite WiFi take wing.

That aircraft will be shared between the Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane routes to Los Angeles and back, with passengers enjoying free Internet access during a public ‘beta test’ of the system.
